Accreditation
What accreditation gives a school — and why you can trust it.
What accreditation means
An accredited school is authorised by CEA to deliver KSR and to assess learners against the standard.
Levels of accreditation
Accreditation is granted at defined levels, each authorising delivery and assessment up to a given key stage.
See the key stages →Requires a methodist
A school must have a certified methodist of the matching level — the academic authority who safeguards the standard.
Exam-centre status
A separate, stricter approval allows a school to host the central external examination.
Reviewed regularly
Accreditation is time-limited and reviewed, and may be suspended if the standard is not upheld.
